Iracema was born on February 14th, 1912 in São Luiz do Paraitinga and her baptism.  Her godfather was Francisco Affonso da Silveira and her godmother was Juliana Silveira.  Iracema's father was Álvaro Domingues de Castro and her mother was Luiza Guedes Guimarães.  Her paternal grandparents were Bernardino Domingues de Castro and Joaquina Domingues Castro; her maternal grandparents were Rogério Abel Santos and Libânia Abel Santos. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Dario, Dito, Auta, Juca and Elvira.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 63 in 1975 in São Paulo.  She was buried in Cemitério da Consolação.
